"I want you to know that I am really pleased with the land. It was as beautiful as I hoped it would be and I can assure you that I will never be disappointed in my purchase. I only wish I could be living up there now, but since I can't, I do hope to be living there at least within a couple of years."

New Mexico is perhaps best known for it's scenic beauty and sunny climate. As a matter of fact, because the sun shines much of the year, the state is the leader in solar energy research. Other resources however are more traditional, uranium, coal, gas and oil contribute to the state's economy and the country's energy. The economy is much more broad based however with government being the largest employer - especially in military, research and administrative areas. Tourism, arts and crafts, along with agriculture, manufacturing, and electronics also contribute to a steady growing economy.
Outdoor recreation is popular with six national forests offering over 14,000 square miles of opportunity to get out and enjoy the good weather. Hiking and backpacking along with off-road-vehicle travel on designated trails are a popular sport. Skiing and snowmobiling in winter is abundant in the mountain regions.
The laked and reservoirs offer excellent boating, and other water sports. If you like rockhounding, you'll discover a wide variety of semi-precious stones and minerals.
Hunting and fishing is found on most public lands. Whitetail and mule deer, bighorn and barbary sheep, antelope, elk, bear, javelina, turkey, dove, grouse and pheasant can be hunted in season.
